Because everyone already knows what month it is.

September is the beginning of Fall seasonal marketing.

Fall is almost here. The trees have begun to turn. Sweater weather. Winter is coming.

After a while, it all starts to sound like background noise. When everybody is saying the same thing, nobody is really saying much at all.

We all know it’s fall. People have calendars.

You don't need to announce the month to your audience. The best seasonal marketing isn’t about stating the obvious—it’s about noticing what has actually changed because the season shifted.

Instead of saying “Fall is here,” say what fall actually means for your business right now:

• You can finally get a table on Friday night.

• The crowds went home. The good stuff stayed.

• The patio is quieter, and you know half of them.

• The sale isn’t cute—we just need the shelf space for winter gear.

Those lines work because they come from real life. They give people a reason to pause for half a second because it sounds like a human talking, not a seasonal caption generator.

Moving away from generic filler toward specific, observational messaging is how you build real momentum instead of starting over every time the calendar turns.

Here’s a simple exercise to use when a post feels flat:

Write the obvious version first. Then delete it.

Write the second version.

The first draft is usually what everybody else is saying. The second draft is where your actual voice shows up.

You do not need to reinvent your marketing every week. You just need to give people something real to notice.

This week, before you hit publish, ask yourself one question:

Could this caption belong to anybody else?

If the answer is yes, keep going.

Say something different.
