There’s a short window, right about now, when the dust of winter settles and the summer rush hasn’t started pounding down the door. This is the time to reset. Tidy up those lingering tasks, tune in to what your brand is really saying, and test out new ideas while the pace is still manageable. Spring in Tahoe isn’t just a breather—it’s a strategic advantage if you know how to use it.
I find that everything seems on hold for the month of April, the time of ideation and planning, but May is the time to get content creation locked in and rolling. Memorial Day is early this year. We only have 3 more weeks and summer begins. Early summer is the time I get to test out my messaging. See what messaging fits best and what flows in our evolving world.
During the busy season, it’s easy to get swept up in the day-to-day—answering calls, managing staff, reacting to whatever’s urgent. But now? Now is the time to zoom out.
This shoulder season is your chance to shift focus. Look at your systems. Tidy up your website. Check your social bios. Line up your summer content. These are the things that get ignored in the chaos, but they’re what hold your message together when it’s go-time.
Fewer people mean less noise. It also means more freedom to test. Try a new tone on social. Play with different headlines. Tweak your call to action. You’ve got space right now to experiment, without the pressure of peak season results.
Use the slower rhythm of spring to finish the small-but-important stuff. You’ll thank yourself when summer hits.
The in-between season isn’t just a pause. It’s a tool. Use it to refine your message, tighten your brand, and get ahead—because once the tourists roll in, there’s no time for tune-ups.
Short videos based on the Big Water Ci. Newsletter. Tahoe Region Marketing tips and tricks. It’s still in its formative stage. Figuring out what works in both consistency, workflow, and messaging. The videos will be posted on Meta Reels, YouTube Shorts, LinkedIn, and TikTok. In 6 months, I’ll look at the numbers and let you know which platform rocked it and which platform went flat.
One of my go-to shorts had a great insight into creation. Most people don’t want to be beginners, they want to launch right out of the box fully formed and polished. I see this all the time with clients. I’ve been doing social media since the beginning, and the ones who succeed are the ones who embrace the mindset: publish now, analyze, and grow.
Could be a good topic for next week.
