As we close out the year, I wanted to share a few things I’m genuinely grateful for—and maybe give you a smile along the way. The Holiday Season is here! One more week and we will be in full swing.
- I’m thankful the internet in Truckee is still holding strong. No frozen screens, no frozen pipes. We’ll take the wins where we can.
- I’m thankful that AI hasn’t launched another AI this month. It’s giving us all a moment to breathe, adjust, and maybe even enjoy the progress we’ve already made.
- I’m thankful I’ve finally figured out how to speak to my AI assistant in a way that saves me hours of typing. I talk. It types. That’s modern magic.
- I’m thankful that short-form video is finally clicking for small brands. It’s fast, focused, and when it works? It really works.
- I’m thankful for strong coffee, forgiving clients, and the ability to laugh at algorithm changes instead of crying over them.
- I’m thankful I live in Tahoe—where beauty, quiet, and creativity feel just a little more accessible.
- I’m thankful for our wonderful small business community. You keep showing up. You stay nimble. You collaborate. You’re the real deal.
- I’m thankful for my health. For when the snow does arrive.
- I’m thankful for having a voice in this ever-changing world of marketing, and for the ability to help people find clarity in the chaos.
And in the spirit of lightness, a few humorous marketing notes I’m carrying into 2026:
- Every time I “boost” a post, I hear my own voice whisper: That’s not advertising, that’s donating to Meta.
- “Link in bio” still feels like code for good luck finding it.
- And no matter how clear the CTA, someone will always comment: “Where can I find more info?”
So here’s to quiet wins, resilient teams, and the ongoing adventure of doing meaningful work in a noisy world.
Wishing you warmth, light, and a clear inbox (but let's be honest, that’s never happening).
If there is a topic you’d like to hear more about by all means comment below or direct message and I’ll do my best.
Nothing better than a good question to jump into.
Reach out for a talk over coffee or a hike I give information freely. I only ask to be paid when I do the work. tgold@bigwaterci.com
